Fancy riding your mountain bike along the paths of the garrigue and uncovering new trails around Uzès and the Pont du Gard?

Warm up your STAVA and try out our 29″ SCOTT mountain bikes equipped with hydraulic disc brakes for an amazing sporting experience.
Mountain biking is another way of taking your time when visiting and exploring the Gard area.

One of the best features of this region, especially the Pont du Gard, is that there is no less than 360 km of hiking trails, the majority of which can also be ridden on a mountain bike… so more than enough to sate your desire for the great outdoors!

Accept an invite from the Bureau des Moniteurs du Gard to escape the beaten track and try hurtling down the rocks of the garrigue. The Bureau are always happy to share hints and tips on sporting routes: although some of them might be a bit tricky in places, requiring that little extra pedal power, you know they’re going to be worth the effort!

Find your way to spots that very few people know about and admire some breathtaking views, such as the stunning vista across the Gorges du Gardon.

Go back in time while traversing the remains of the Pont du Gard aqueduct. The traces left by the Romans make for a stunning itinerary, and if you needed even more proof, this route is one of the top 20 mountain bike rides in the Gard.

Pedal at your own pace to the town of Uzès, a place filled with art and history, and take a stroll along its narrow streets, soaking up the Tuscan atmosphere.

And if you’re into greenways and circular cycle routes, why not hire your bike from the Gard Monitor’s Office?

Based in Collias, the Bureau des Moniteurs du Gard is just a few short turns of the pedals away from the Pont du Gard greenway and the the Uzège circular cycle route..

There are also much gentler, but no less interesting routes that cross landscapes typical of the South of France, showcasing vineyards, olive groves, villages perched atop hillsides, the wild flowers of the garrigue and so much more. These cycle tourism routes allow you to combine sport and enjoyment with the opportunity to refuel with some gourmet food. On your way, you will come across wine cellars, sellers of regional products and even some sweet treats… surely you can smell the packs of ‘Car en sac’ from the Haribo Sweet Museum from here?
