Caving is an activity that can be enjoyed with family or friends. It is an activity that encourages you to discover a world of underground caves and caverns created by nature, the movements of the earth, and sometimes even by humans. It is a multi-faceted activity: sporty, full of things to discover, awe-inspiring, and requiring technical skills…
This activity amazes young and old alike with the abundance of knowledge that is shared. The guide (who can be hired privately) will show you all the wonder of an underground world that is just waiting to be explored, as well as explaining to you how it was all formed. Today, you can also add a sporting element to your caving experience, enjoying an intense activity in a mystical, wondrous place that invites you to take a moment to yourself and contemplate.
There are several types of caving.
Discovery caving: this is an introductory form of caving that is ideal for beginners. The whole idea is to take time and contemplate, allowing yourself to be guided through the discovery of a rather unique world. The routes and passages taken are less difficult and more accessible to those people who are not so sporty. Sessions of discovery caving are normally shorter than sport caving.
Sport caving in Aven: an intense form of underground exploration that takes place over several hours. This usually involves traversing shelves and edges, technical descents, climbing passages, and even ascents where you rely on the use of rope clamps and ropes. This is a form of caving that is much-loved by sportspeople who appreciate the sense of thrill it gives.
